The Supertuscan Wine Box is a careful selection of Callmewine that encompasses the charm and prestige of Supertuscan wines, a name coined by the wine critic Robert Parker to refer to all those famous Tuscan reds made with international Bordeaux vines. A special and prestigious collection to retrace the Bolgheri territory through different interpretations that have the ability to amaze and excite. An excellent gift idea for enthusiasts, connoisseurs or for those who want to deepen one of the most important wine areas in Italy!

With the Wine Box Supertuscan, Callmewine aims to pay homage to the myth of the Supertuscans, now synonymous with absolute prestige. The phenomenon of the Supertuscans exploded in the 1980s, a period in which the famous wine critic Robert Parker coined this term to highlight those great Tuscan red wines produced outside the denominations. The category of Supertuscans includes both reds made with traditional varieties of the Tuscan territory, Sangiovese first and foremost, deliberately labeled without denomination as a protest against the lax quality standards of the regulations, as well as reds from international grapes, particularly Bordeaux varieties, vinified in purity, blended together or assembled with the same Sangiovese. ‘Sassicaia’, ‘Pergole Torte’, ‘Flaccianello della Pieve’, ‘Solaia’, ‘Tignanello’, ‘Ornellaia’ and ‘Tenuta di Trinoro’ are just a few of the iconic Supertuscans that have contributed to writing a very important chapter in the history of Italian winemaking.

In the Wine Box You will find a small and precious selection of three bottles dedicated to the phenomenon of the Supertuscans. Whether produced in the historic territory of Chianti, the renowned Bolgheri, the Mediterranean Maremma Toscana or the beautiful Val d’Orcia, all Supertuscans are symbols of a bold break with the past. In addition to the indigenous Sangiovese, these wines are typically made with international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Petit Verdot, while for aging periods, French oak barriques, mostly new, are often used.

The Wine Box Supertuscan is an unmissable package that symbolizes Tuscany outside the historical denominations, a Tuscany with an elegant and modern style.
