The Pinot Noir Reserve “Marjun” is an elegant and structured red wine, an excellent South Tyrolean interpretation of Pinot Noir, obtained through aging in small oak barrels. Hints of berries, pepper, cherries and Mediterranean herbs accompany a fresh, elegant, full-bodied and persistent sip

The Alto Adige wine Pinot Nero Riserva “Marjun” Tramin is a red that highlights the main characteristics of the grape variety used. The typical notes of berries alternate with tertiary nuances, developed during the aging period spent in wood, in a harmonious and well-defined range of aromas. A bottle whose name derives from the composition of the soil of the vineyards from which it originates, which lie immediately below a calcareous detrital band referred to, in the ancient pre-Latin language, as “marra”.

The Pinot Nero Riserva “Marjun” signed Tramin originates from the grapes of an international variety that, in Alto Adige, has an excellent track record, Pinot Nero. The vineyards where this variety grows are characterized by a hilly silhouette and are located between 350 and 650 meters above sea level. The terroir features a subsoil mainly composed of limestone and clay. The bunches are destemmed, and the grapes undergo a cryomaceration of 4 days. After pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel containers, while malolactic fermentation takes place in small oak barrels. This is followed by aging, during which the wine rests for 11 months in wood, both in large barrels and in small oak barrels.

The “Marjun” is a Pinot Nero Riserva that, in the glass, takes on a very bright ruby red color, characterized by light garnet veins at the rim. The nose is captivating, where notes of small red fruits intertwine with spicier touches and interesting nuances of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it has a slender body, with a refreshing and solid sip, which indeed continues on the finish with a nice persistence. Tramin, a prominent producer in Alto Adige, gives us an elegant bottle that pairs well with meat second courses, both white and red, and with game-based recipes.
