"Oltreluna" is a Sardinian red wine made from Monica grapes. The aromas are elegant and complex, characterized by vegetal and spicy notes. The taste is dry and persistent, balanced between softness and freshness

The Monica “I Fiori” by Pala is a red wine that pays homage to the territory and the winemaking memories of Sardinia. The Monica, a traditional indigenous grape variety, is presented in this label with a typically varietal style, moving gently both on the nose and in the mouth, thanks to linear notes and flavors developed in an orderly manner, without any rough edges. An interesting bottle also for the quality-price ratio at which it is offered, encouraging for those curious to try a typical varietal of the island.

This “I Fiori” made by the Pala winery originates from the Monica grape, an indigenous variety that has been documented in Sardinia since the year 1000 AD. It is a variety that takes its name from the monks who, over the centuries, took care to cultivate it within their monasteries. The vines, trained in the bush vine form, are about 25-30 years old and grow in the locality “Su staini saliu” in Serdiana, in a terroir characterized by the presence of clay and limestone. The maceration of the must in contact with the skins lasts for five days, and fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The final aging first takes place for 6 months in cement tanks, and then, once bottling is completed, for 2 or 3 months in glass.

The red wine Monica “I Fiori” from the Sardinian winery Pala presents itself to the eye with a ruby color, crossed by some light violet reflections. The nose is wide and layered, playing on a combination of notes that transition from vegetal to more spicy aromas with slight hints of licorice. On the palate, it has a medium body, harmonious, characterized by a fresh vein that envelops the palate with continuity; it finishes with a good taste persistence. A label with which the winery enters the heart of local winemaking traditions, to be chosen when, through a good sip, one wants to expand their culture regarding wines.
