The Barbaresco “Starderi” is a elegant and intense red wine that perfectly expresses the typical characteristics of one of the most famous and appreciated wines of the Langhe. It is born from the vineyards of the homonymous cru, located in the northernmost part of the territory of the municipality of Neive. It is a wine that fits perfectly into the production philosophy of the La Spinetta winery, which has always been attentive to enhancing the great Piedmontese grape varieties like Nebbiolo and producing excellences that are a true and sincere expression of the terroir, in the name of history and tradition. A vision that always aims to highlight and exalt the natural characteristics of the grape and its varietal peculiarities.
The “Starderi” wine from La Spinetta is a Barbaresco produced with grapes from vineyards cultivated in the area of the Geographical Indication Starderi, on predominantly calcareous soils, at an altitude of 270 meters above sea level, with a sunny exposure to the south. A 6.5-hectare estate with vines over 50 years old, which yield high-quality grapes.quality. The harvest takes place around mid-October and the grapes are sent for fermentation in temperature-controlled rotofermenters. The wine then follows its long maturation process with 22 months in medium-toasted French oak barriques and another 3 months in stainless steel tanks before being bottled without filtration or clarification. Before being put on sale, it completes its aging with 12 months in the bottle.
